The Role

Our network is mission critical to our goal of bringing powerful DNS and traffic management to our customers. Unparalleled uptime, 100%, and the best response time possible under nominal and trying conditions are the key metrics we strive for in this role. To that end we’re looking for a network automation engineer who can troubleshoot and take ownership of issues to achieve these goals.

You’ll be fully empowered to make decisions that affect the entire platform. You should be well versed with BGP and anycast. You should be able to troubleshoot servers, packet loss, firewall issues as they arise. Solid understanding of DNS is a plus.

We have automated a number of things and there’s still much to go. Further automation will enable us to deploy faster, troubleshoot faster, react to issues faster and be overall more efficient.  We’re looking for someone who in addition to networking knowledge can work with NETCONF, Ansible, Python to help our automation push. You don’t need to be a developer but general knowledge or experience with tools such as git is desired. There will be some overlap with our devops/SRE team. Great ability to interact with others is desired.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience with BGP
  • JUNOS a plus
  • Familiar with general networking concepts, anycast, SVI/vlan, ospf, IS-IS, vpn
  • Experience working with multiple vendors to troubleshoot issues and provision new services
  • Linux/Unix experience a plus
  • Basic OS troubleshooting tools – tcpdump/traceroute
  • Automation, scripting familiarity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of ISP/Hosting/NSP practices
  • Interface with vendors to setup new circuits
  • Configure new network equipment/pops
  • Provision/reprovision servers
  • Contribute to network automation projects
  • Troubleshoot routing/connectivity issues
