Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a skilled Systems Engineer to join our diverse development organization to manage and maintain our MongoDB environment. You will spend much of your time learning new technologies and concepts (MongoDB/NoSQL), applying this knowledge and experience to solve complex problems in new and interesting ways. 

What you’ll be doing

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Work with our systems engineering, development and database teams to manage and maintain our MongoDB instances and replica sets
  • Study the database needs of our applications and optimize them using MongoDB
  • Improve MongoDB backups and test recoverability
  • Assist with the design, deployment, management, scaling and monitoring of a large production Linux environment.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripts and open-source tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve unique system/application problems without a predefined solution.
  • Strong experience in Linux as an administrator.
  • Understanding of MongoDB and/or other NoSQL technologies with a desire to continuously learn.
  • Experience and a good understanding of cluster architectures.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Coding/scripting skills with one of Python, Perl, or Java
