We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to provide operational support on behalf of Pinn’s biometric authentication system. The role will provide expert guidance to multiple engineering teams and will be considered the main point of contact for development, operations and testing matters. Pinn’s biometric authentication system will reach and impact our key services, partners, and clients on a global scale. This position will work with internal and external partners to coordinate software release activities, including: scheduling, identifying bottlenecks and troubleshooting, reproducing bugs, and issue prioritization.

Our ideal candidate will be able to maintain a holistic view of the technical architecture—ensure product stability between development and production environments, with the goal of improving future environments. In addition, has an expert understanding of the complete software development lifecycle from design, build, test, to deploy.  

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with DevOps or related field
  • Expertise with Amazon Web Services and cloud computing best practices
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems
  • Experience implementing continuous integration and deployment systems
  • Understanding of Python and automation libraries
  • Capable of translating results into business recommendations
  • Experience with automated monitoring systems and technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
  • Familiar with Docker
  • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture: Databases (i.e. SQL and NoSQL), Caches, Queues, Load Balances
  • Understanding of industry standard best practices
  • Experience in a startup and growth-stage environments
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and sensitive to the needs of a small and rapidly growing company
  • Self-starter who is excited about technology and able to work effectively independently or in a team setting
