Objective of role

As the Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, managing and operating the network environment for Ticketmaster and Live Nation Entertainment. You will be required to determine technical requirements, produce technical designs, network and network device configuration templates along with the automation required to manage the networks.

Key Responsibilities

You will work with client organisations to understand business requirements and design/deliver networking solutions that satisfy business needs. You will implement, troubleshoot and oversee the management of the Data Centre and office networks, including the call centre network. You will assess network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the business while providing network planning recommendations to management.

  • You will provide guidance to Level 2 Network Engineer on complex issues or requests whilst taking a leadership role in high level cross-functional / cross-organisational team projects.
  • Analyse network activity and network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors, and recommend network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.
  • Make quick decisions on proper ways to align customer requirements with existing company or departmental procedures.
  • Troubleshoot network issues through all layers of the OSI model, across multiple technologies.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate hardware and services provided by vendors and recommend changes.
  • Evaluate/recommend enterprise tools to ensure proper visibility and awareness of the health of the overall network and network devices.
  • You will oversee the interface with telecommunication carriers for telco services encompassing multiple redundant Internet, MPLS, VDSL, ADSL connections.
  • Demonstrated strong troubleshooting skills in a large Enterprise multi-vendor environment with proven ability to exercise sound judgment in complex and high-pressure situations.
  • You will be flexible and be able to handle competing and changing priorities in the business.
  • Extensive experience/knowledge of Cisco Nexus Data Center switching hardware and software, including vPC, ACI, APIC and AVS is required.
  • Experience of standard network change management and configuration policies is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience with state full firewalls (Cisco ASA/PIX) and packet inspection techniques along with VPN/tunnelling technologies is a core part of this role.
