At GreenSteam, we have developed very advanced and effective solutions to improve the fuel efficiency of the big ships that our customers operate around the globe. The various hardware and software components are quite complex to configure, install and maintain - and that’s where you come in.

We need a highly intelligent and proactive Linux support engineer to help us ensure that our solutions are effective from day one and every day after that.

You will be involved in all aspects on the technical side of our growing operations, especially technical support tasks, networking and system configuration.

A very important part of your role will be to co-operate with our network and system administrators and our customer support team to make sure our customers are happy.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Configure, deploy and support our solutions
  • Maintain our network and server infrastructure on a daily basis
  • Maintain security checks of the servers and networks
  • Take good care of the data - calibration, synchronization etc.
  • BSc or MSc level education in electronics or computer/software engineering
  • Strong bash scripting skills - and at least basic Python programming
  • At least three years of proven top experience with Linux system/network administration
  • Relevant Certificates are a plus
  • Experience with digital signals such as RS422, RS485, MODBUS is a big plus
  • Experience with analog signal such as currents, voltages, and pulses is also a big plus
  • Self-motivated and passionate about delivering high quality
  • Happy to pick up the phone and talk to a customer or user, in English
  • You like working with and being challenged by highly skilled team mates
