Role

We are looking for talented and experienced Engineers to be a part of a small, agile, operations-focussed team who are capable of adopting and operating and enhancing new technology acquired through the M&A activities of JUST EAT. Among other things, this means understanding and operating a wide range of technology across the infrastructure, web hosting and ecommerce spectrum.

As a Senior Platform Engineer in the Acquired Platforms Engineering team, you and the team will be responsible for the efficient control and overall operation of the Platform Services that support the various E-Commerce Platforms. We believe that when engineering teams operate their components in production they create a more robust platform.

You and the team will define standards to support the engineering teams in whichever platform being looked after. This will include deployment, operation, future planning and support processes. Whilst this role has an element of support, the team’s primary role is to mature the platforms and infrastructure of the newly acquired business as well as encourage and develop good practice across the teams so they can effectively support platform incidents themselves.

  • Amazon Web Services and Azure, or other cloud providers/technologies
  • Database knowledge MS SQL / MySQL
  • Powershell / Bash / Ruby
  • Multi OS for infrastructure
  • Information Security (in the context of a sysadmin)
  • Application / server performance monitoring and tuning
  • Working in a production environment
  • HAProxy
  • Monitoring and metrics infrastructure (e.g. Graphite, Logstash, Sensu, Zenoss, Nagios, Zabbix)
  • Hashicorp product suite
  • Programming in C# and/or Ruby
  • Java, Python
  • Building continuous deployment
