The DevOps Engineer will work within a team of engineers that support the firm’s production server infrastructure (physical, virtual and storage) and are responsible for its performance, reliability and maintainability. The team works regularly with development and business personnel to identify performance problems and assure quality of service for our clients.

The successful candidate will be able to translate requirements (including already-configured systems) into a set of deployment and configuration processes that are robust and scalable. A background in development or software engineering would be helpful.

Job Functions:

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Process automation with Puppet, Chef or other automation platform
  • Cloud computing administration and engineering (Amazon Web Services, Azure, vCloud, OpenStack)
  • Collaboration with development, QA and release engineering teams
  • Participating in major system engineering projects, and providing 2nd-3rd tier support for technical issues
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in Windows/Linux system administration and engineering
  • PowerShell or other shell scripting proficiency
  • Experience with standardized orchestration and automation tools (i.e. Chef, Puppet, Ansible, PowerShell DSC)
  • Experience with public or private cloud environments
  • Knowledge of system clustering and high-availability (plus)
