Trupanion, North America’s fastest growing provider of medical insurance for cats and dogs, is looking for a Director of IT Infrastructure and Security. You will plan and direct activities for the organization responsible for Infrastructure Management, Service Management and Security Management.  You will be a key member of the IT leadership team driving innovative, cost effective, and secure solutions to our Enterprise IT roadmap.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Define IT Infrastructure strategy, architecture and standards including voice and data network, systems and storage, systems management, virtual server technology and cloud computing to ensure effective operations
  • Actively participate in building deployment and support process aligned to the company’s strategy for Dev Ops and continuous integration
  • Oversee the monitoring, maintenance, upgrade and administration of all IT systems, including network infrastructure, servers, storage, databases, desktops / laptops, and peripherals to achieve availability, performance, and security objectives
  • Ensure a stable and highly available enterprise computing environment, including effective customer communications, problem solving, root cause analysis, and remediation
  • Build and manage a PCI compliant infrastructure that evolves with changes in regulations and business operations
  • Develop and execute a plan to perform risk, business impact and vulnerability assessments and define risk mitigation strategies
  • Oversee and manage security operations to ensure the integrity and compliance of company infrastructure and data
  • Maintain system, network, and security disaster recovery plans, scripts, and coordinate testing
  • Develop and execute standard operating processes and automation, including standard product roadmaps, vulnerability management program, hardware refresh strategy, service request & change management processes. Drive initiatives to reduce manual effort through automation and process improvement. Develop standard services through service definitions and associated SLA’s
  • Responsible for procuring, installing and maintaining all computer hardware and software. Act as liaison between hardware and software suppliers and management for informational updates and problem resolution
  • Lead and participate in overall business technology planning, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems as related to the company’s objectives
  • Responsible for the developing and executing within the IT infrastructure budget as well as driving ROI analysis and decisions on new infrastructure investments
  • Provide leadership and manage the work activities of direct reports and infrastructure teams
  • Hire and develop members of your team to achieve capability, performance, and security objectives
  • Bachelor’s level degree in related fields, IT certificates or appropriate work experience required
  • 10+ years’ experience in a combination of systems administration, networking, security, risk management and technology jobs
  • 5+ years’ experience as a manager of technology infrastructure and security teams with job history demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
  • Experience with implementing Dev Ops a plus
  • Experience with implementing PCI compliance a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as SOX, PCI, GDPR, etc.
  • Experience with IT Infrastructure and Security management frameworks such as  ITIL, ISO 27001, etc.
  • Experience working effectively in a collaborative environment with other internal and external technology professionals in order to identify and implement new technology solutions, and effective policies and procedures.
