Linux Production Systems Administrator at Zopa (London, UK)
You will help to develop the Zopa IT infrastructure. Currently spread across two datacentres and in to the cloud there is plenty of work to be done. With the large server estate and network that hosts the Zopa application you will be tasked with ensuring that the infrastructure continues to operate in a robust way. The estate continues to grow at a rapid rate with a large emphasis on migrating into the cloud.
Migration of services and environments to AWS, moving to an event sourcing based data capture using Kafka, increased emphasis on security and durability are just some of the key areas we are looking to address. We’re looking for the knowledge, skills and experience to help design, build and support these projects.
Desired Skills and Experience
- The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills in Linux (Ubuntu)
- On-hands experiencing with networking (Juniper) at the command line level
- Experience of using AWS in a corporate environment with knowledge of Regions, AZs, VPCs and segregation options for different environment
- Proven experience working on infrastructure that supports a customer facing application is essential.
- Knowledge of typical security practices within an IT environment
- Firewall and Load Balancing experiencing (Juniper, F5)
- Scripting (eg Bash)
- Splunk or other Log aggregation tools
- Use of infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloudformation)
