Desired Skills and Experience
- Maintaining the high availability and further improvement of our platforms scalability
- Close collaboration with our development teams to achieve best possible solutions
- Maintaining and continuously improving our monitoring setup as well as improving the alerting and graphing
- Ensuring, the automated security scans are executed as configured and evaluating the reports
- Managing our HAproxy instances, our application & webservers, the firewalls and the DDoS protection/WAF/CDN service
- Running our physical and virtual servers incl. patching/updating the operating system
- Further automating the server provisioning with Puppet/Hiera/Foreman
- Managing SSL certificates, domains and DNS
- University degree in computer science or a similar vocational training
- 5+ years of professional experience operating platforms for high traffic websites/APIs
- Very good knowledge of Unix/Linux server operating systems, preferably Debian
- Experience with Tomcat and/or Jboss, HAproxy, Squid, Apache, Nginx,
- Passion for automation, development experience in Puppet incl. Hiera and Foreman
- Development experience in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, Perl or similar)
- Experience in setting up a comprehensive monitoring for a web platform including all hosts, services/processes and configuring the appropriate alerting, preferably with Check_Mk
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand existing systems
- Good communication skills, combined with a high customer and service orientation
- You are a team player and eager to work within a multinational environment
- Innovative mindset and passionate about new ideas or technologies
- You understand, that observance of existing processes in a regulated environment with respect to handling personal data, managing permissions and granting accesses to company resources is important
