Desired Skills and Experience
- Video Distribution. Codecs, encoding/decoding, IP streaming, cision making process from conception and whiteboarding all the way to execution and mainteorganization and efficiency. We also have a bunch of video walls here you can play games / watch movies on; if that’s your thing.
- Networks. You will help design and deploy large networks of services and devices, monitor them, scale them, and help them discover each other.
- Scripting & Automation. Infrastructure-as-Code to the limit. Look for inefficiencies and destroy them. Melt away any snowflake servers and provide consistent, reliable, repeatable environments for dev, testing, and production.
- A candidate with 5-10 years of experience in system administration of Linux systems (Debian preferred).
- Knowledge of BASH, or similar scripting languages.
- Knowledge of best practices, server hardening, and deployment.
- MySQL / nginx configuration.
- Experience with deploying, monitoring, and maintaining CI/CD systems, containers, micro-services.
- An ability to lead, see the big picture, and break down epics/stories into their constituent tasks.
- Familiarity with git and the CLI. Tell me about your preferred environments.
