Desired Skills and Experience

  • Coordinate/Implement VmWare Patches: Apply Routine Patches to environment for the involved OS Versions
  • Execute/document at least quarterly failover tests performed on critical components in the environment
  • Support PCI audits and security compliance
  • Implement VmWare level patches: Apply Routine Patches to environment for the involved
  • Support the platform according to Amadeus’ implementation of ITIL procedures                   
  • Incident Management Support (deliver on call, assist with Incidents during office hours)
  • Problem Management (run the Amadeus PMR process)
  • Event Management (review and refine monitoring for the VmWare platforms)
  • Minimum 6 years of work experience in the technologies listed above
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in working in an application management capacity
  • 4+ years as VMware Engineer
  • Good Project management and/or team core-member representation
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant OS and associated platform(s) and tools
  • Excellent debugging and problem analysis skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation and the ability to work in a team
  • Self-motivated and experience in leading small or mid-sized teams
  • Able to work both autonomously and effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team
  • Build and configure VmWare of ADP Server Complexes as required
  • Provide 3rd  level Server virtualization support for ADP server complexes
  • Monitor and update internal systems such as Win@proach appropriately with information related to IRs/PTRs/CRs/WOs/TRs impacting assigned Server Complexes  
  • Interface with various Support Groups for actions pertaining to assigned Server Complexes
  • Monitor Vendor patches and apply to ADP Server complexes as required
  • Create scripts and evaluate tools to support automation of the Virtualization platform.
  • Provide technical assistance in validation of new hardware
  • Provide technical assistance in validation and evaluation of new VMware features.
  • Act as a primary technical interface to vendors
  • Prepare Technical presentations to Management
  • Provide training/assistance to staff and other departments
  • Project support as required for implementation of new applications and new servers
  • Prepare, review, enhance and implement new and updated Operational Procedures for Server Complexe                                                                                                                               
  • Good knowledge of networking protocols and concepts, LAN, WAN, Routers and Firewalls
  • Project Management experience
  • Presentation and Report writing experience
  • Above average performance in present or previous position for not less than 1 year
  • VMware Certified Professional 5 a definite plus                  
  • Degree in IT or computer science/engineering or related technical field
  • Good to have - Certification on IT Systems, ITIL Fundamentals, V2 and V3
  • Documented track record of successful completion of technical or customer related projects Experience in Airline domain is a plus
