Desired Skills and Experience
- Associate or bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with analysis, build, implementation and support of healthcare information systems.
- Experience implementing an electronic medical record.
- Demonstrated ability to gather information from multiple sources and analyze applicability and appropriateness, and develop and efficient work flow and subsequent computerized process.
- System analysis and design knowledge needed to understand functional requirements and translate these functions as applicable to computerized processing.
- Application of appropriate methods and tools to the systems development life cycle as related to informatics.
- Proficient in office automation software (work processing, spreadsheets, visual presentation such as MS Project, Visio, etc.)
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of operational practices and principles.
- Demonstrated experience leading information system projects in a healthcare environment.
- Experience with large-scale databases.
- Experience directing high-end technical staff.
- Working knowledge of project management tools
- Working knowledge of total computer environment including hardware, operating system software and application software
- Experience working with healthcare revenue/billing systems or system implementation teams for complex projects and/or application development is
- Experience supporting healthcare billing office systems
- Experience working with interfaced/integrated multi-vendor applications
- Academic institution or large integrated health systems experience
- Knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures.
