Desired Skills and Experience
- The Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer will be responsible for the oversight and management of Salesforce’s client facing applications, servers, and network 24x7.
- You will be a member of an existing team dedicated to solving difficult challenges and providing high level support at Salesforce.
- You will recommend and implement changes to the production environment that improve the stability and performance and security of a large scale Linux computing platform
- Excellent technical and people skills are an absolute necessity.
- 5-7 years experience working with Linux (RedHat, Apache, LDAP, Java Applications)
- Extremely sound knowledge of automation tools (AWS, Azure)
- Extremely sound knowledge TCP/IP network fundamentals
- Experience with configuration management tools such as CFengine, Puppet, or Chef
- Ability to develop complex scripts using at least two common system administration scripting languages preferably shell and Perl
- Hands on experience with large autonomous Linux installations a plus.
- Ability to perform performance and kernel tuning as well as deep troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Experience with engineering tools such as bug tracking and source code control systems
- Ability to help develop and implement governance and security processes (i.e. Sarbanes-Oxley, SAS70, PCI, etc.)
- Detail oriented and careful
- Experience with hardware load balancers
- Experience with NFS storage subsystems
