Low Latency Market Data Engineer at RBC (Toronto, ON, Canada)

Desired Skills and Experience

• Troubleshoot any issues effecting trading floor in relation to the low latency system
• Test firmware upgrades, feedhandler updates, new exchange access
• Notify the business of any potential impact before market opens or during the business day
• Build and maintain existing monitoring systems
• Escalate issues to the vendor’s management team
• Understand market data & exchange driven changes and data
• Document and sharing information with the team
• 3-5 years of experience in Exchange connectivity (CoLo site, Direct feeds)
• Knowledge of market data distribution platforms (ie Bloomberg, Reuters & Exegy)
• Knowledge of networking (10GbE, TCP/UDP)
• Some knowledge of scripting / programming
• Perl and Python programming knowledge
• Experience working with different low latency system providers
• Experience in low latency connections (RoCE, Solarflare)
