Desired Skills and Experience
- Lead a global team of DevOps engineers in a highly agile (often changing and conflicting priorities) environment, with focus on efficient operation of daily activities
- Build, manage and support Five9’s global DEV and QA environments, in both private and public clouds
- Work with QA, DEV, Release Management and Production Operations teams to develop processes for consistent patch deployment and environment configuration changes, validation and rollback
- Automate the environment buildouts and code deployment processes (continually review/improve automation as needed
- Monitor the environments and perform alert/incident troubleshooting in a timely manner
- Create/maintain documentation of all environments (diagrams, inventory, procedures, etc.)
- 10+ years of Linux/Unix/Windows System Administration experience (including DNS, SMTP, TCP/IP, LDAP, firewalls, load balancing, routing/switching, monitoring and web applications)
- 5+ years working in a DevOps organization (2+ years management experience)
- Excellent programming (Perl/Python/Ruby/Shell/Java) and automation skills
- Strong knowledge and experience with cloud/virtualization technologies including VMware (vSphere, vCenter and ESXi), AWS, and OpenStack.
- Configuration management tool (preferably Puppet) experience
- Solid understanding of deployments tools such as Cobbler and Foreman
- Good experience with Git, Perforce, and Jenkins
- Working knowledge of Vagrant framework
- Good understanding of packaging systems (yum, rpmbuild, spec-files)
- Administration skills of Asterisk PBX, FreeSWITCH
- Other desired experience include MySQL, Tomcat, SOLR, Agile scrum
- S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
