Desired Skills and Experience
- Design, manage and develop our OpenStack cloud platform
- Automate at all levels, from bare metal through to application management
- Keep track of everything through good monitoring, alerting and trending
- Evaluate and commission software and hardware, e.g. SDN, SDS and OpenStack components such as Designate and Kolla
- Offer new ideas to improve our processes and architecture
- Join the on-call rotation and help solve emergencies should they arise
- Several years of experience managing distributed systems with Linux
- Monitoring and trending experience, e.g. with Prometheus and Grafana
- Experience of configuration management, e.g. with Ansible
- Attention to detail
- Ability to stay calm while solving critical incidents
- Bonus: Experience with software-defined storage and/or software-defined networking e.g. Open vSwitch or CEPH
- Bonus: Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker
