Desired Skills and Experience
- Building a scalable, fault-tolerant and cost-effective architecture
- Automating builds and deployments of microservices
- Managing Couchbase, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, Redis and Kafka clusters
- Security awareness around the solutions you implement and have a plan in place to secure these as part of the build out
- Work effectively within the DevOps team and also with the engineering teams. Desire to design a solution as part of a team
- Analysing and troubleshooting performance of services - written in Python, GoLang and Node.js
- Working very closely with software engineers to provide guidance about architectural patterns and goals
- If you are keen, cutting some Node.js and GoLang application code to truly break down all walls between dev and ops
- Strong experience with AWS or similar cloud-based provider
- Site reliability experience
- Have worked on deployment and management of servers, services and networking
- You possess a strong ‘infrastructure as code’ approach to managing infrastructure
- Experience with Linux system administration
- Strong configuration management, CI and CD experience is an advantage
- Microservices experience is an advantage
- Experience in a startup environment where you can make and understand the value of pragmatic decisions
