Desired Skills and Experience
- Provide systems administration for multiple locally hosted and cloud Linux-based systems including ERP, identity management, directory services, email, web, storage, and others
- Develop and implement new Linux-based systems
- Isolate, research, and resolve problems for critical Linux-based systems
- Document new systems, new operational methods, and changes to existing systems and methods
- Ensure minimal downtime and provide systems support in times of emergency by participating in a paid, on-call rotation
- Assist the Associate Director of TI and the Linux Platform Team manager with regular technical operations and special projects
- Possess intellectual curiosity and a drive for excellence
- Able to work in a collaborative, technical, team-driven environment
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff
- Project management skills and good personal time-management habits
- Able to work in a fast-paced, production environment
- Willing and able to provide off-hours support
- Experience with enterprise Linux server administration
- Experience working with Open Source software systems
- Scripting/coding skills in one or more of: Python, Ruby, Java, Perl, or PHP
- Shell scripting skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field) and 2 years IT experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- Able to work with sensitive/confidential information and to handle such information as required by Federal, State, and PSU/OIT/TI regulations/policies
