Desired Skills and Experience
- Support HA and DR strategies for the Oracle database environment
- Support database replication technologies (e.g., GoldenGate, Dataguard)
- Perform Oracle software/database Installation and Upgrades
- Implement and Maintain proactive and real time monitoring tools (including but not limited to OEM)
- Perform backup and recovery activities using RMAN and other tools as required
- Perform performance tuning of the database and applications
- Support upgrades and patch management of Oracle environment
- Support on-call maintenance activities and participate in rotating on-call coverage
- Monitor and Manage database utilization and performance and tune as appropriate
- Support O&M activities such as security, reporting, testing, troubleshooting application performance issues, and technical documentation
- Support Oracle System Administration activities such as user and system profiles, and creating user roles and responsibilities
- Serve as a database feature subject matter expert to the application teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related field
- 10 or more years of general IT administration or operations experience
- 3 or more years of experience in Oracle database administration – versions 11g and 12c
- 3 or more years of experience using Linux and/or Unix, including shell scripting (Korn preferred)
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related field
- SQLPlus and PL/SQL development experience
- Knowledge of computer network and application layer protocols
- Knowledge of Oracle EBS 11.x middleware (OAS, Concurrent Manager, etc…)
- Knowledge of Oracle middleware products (Weblogic, OID, SSO, SOA, etc…)
- Knowledge of ETL and Reporting tools (Informatica, Business Objects, Tableau, Crystal Reports, etc…)
- Experience with Quest DB Monitoring Tools (Spotlight, Performance Analysis, Foglight)
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and thorough when working on assigned tasks
- Ability to quickly identify a problem and find multiple creative solutions
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously and work them to completion with little supervision
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills to work collaboratively across teams and organizations
- Ability to work under pressure with many assigned tasks and hard deadlines
- Passion for customer service, continuous improvement, and technology
- Working knowledge of Oracle ASM, RAC, Advanced Security, Golden Gate, and Multi-tenant technologies
