Desired Skills and Experience

  • Actively participate in the daily operational activities, providing day-to-day support, proactive maintenance, and independent complex network system troubleshooting
  • Provide strategic technical direction, roadmap design, installation, and configuration of all network systems/services
  • Research emerging technologies in the area of communication and collaboration, and maintain up-to date knowledge on vendors and their product lines
  • Plan and execute network infrastructure upgrade and migration activity and evaluating compatibility of hardware/software (capital projects or business funded initiatives) 
  • Formulate and establish best practices and standards for the enterprise network environment
  • Improve operation and monitoring of advanced or complex features and development of processes and interface requirements
  • Gather and update necessary information (projects and incidents) and communicate to appropriate parties/stakeholders
  • Utilize experience, technical knowledge and skills in order to identify problematic areas and optimize existing environment (capacity and performance issues to ensure uninterrupted service)
  • Anticipate, prevents and eliminates problems and creates efficient bugs and fixes for any patches/vulnerabilities
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs
  • Work cross functionally and interacts with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications and 8 yrs of experience or an equivalent amount of education and experience
  • Minimum of 8years’ network and system administration and experience supporting network protocols, systems and products (Cisco, Aruba, F5, LifeSize, HP)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with load balancers, firewalls and wireless technologies and security
  • Minimum of  7 years of experience working with layer 2 and 3 routing, and WAN related technology, including EIGRP, BGP, OSPF PfR, VRFs, MPLS, DMVPN, VTP, HSRP, VPN and QoS.
  • One or more active networking certifications are desirable such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE
  • Strong knowledge of data communications principles, architectures and protocols including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VoIP, SIP, WAN and Ethernet technologies to design and implement efficient network configurations and interoperability troubleshooting skills (data, voice and video)
  • Deep knowledge of the practices and principles of telecommunication systems analysis, planning, design, and problem resolution
  • Maintain and update documentation of the network connectivity, topology and system 
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
