Desired Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in Linux systems administration, in traditional datacenters as well as public and private clouds
- Experience with virtualization platforms, especially OpenStack
- Familiarity with IP networking and troubleshooting, especially in virtualized environments
- Proficiency in Python and Bourne-compatible shell-scripting
- Experience in CI/CD automation such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
- Experience with tools for configuration management (e.g., Salt, Ansible) and orchestration (Terraform, Heat)
- Strong communication skills for work with customers
- Hands-on experience with OpenStack environments using Open vSwitch–, VLAN–, and VXLAN–based tenant networking
- Significant familiarity with IP switching and routing, including dual-stacked IPv4–IPv6 networks, BGP, etc.
- Experience reviewing and producing technical documentation and diagrams
- Past work in an ISP, NSP/datacenter, and/or telecommunications context
- Experience in a customer facing position
