Desired Skills and Experience

• Administer, build, deploy, configure, maintain, architect, integrate and support Metamako’s IT environment – existing and new  
• Provide support to the Metamako user base, ensuring the rest of the staff can get work done   
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and skills transfer
• Assist with shaping and defining IT policies, processes, and procedures: Incident, Change, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Service Catalogue, SLA, Cyber Security, etc·   
• Ensure the IT environment supports Metamako’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP), business goals, strategies, and are adaptable to the evolving nature of Metamako’s engineering ethos.
• Solid skills in Linux server platform administration, with Windows administration exposure desirable
• Solid skills in MacOs client platform administration
• Strong scripting skills with experience in Python, Perl and Bash - other scripting languages a plus
• Solid Atlassian stack skills: Confluence, Jira, HipChat, Bamboo, etc.
• Strong monitoring and automation skills
• Experience deploying environments supporting DevOps and Agile methods and practices
• Knowledge of configuration management systems
• Knowledge of virtualisation and container services
• Exposure and working knowledge of a mixed IT environment including: Linux, MacOS and Windows, File Storage, Physical servers, Virtualisation, Containerisation
• Automated deployment and configuration
• Authorisation and Authentication
• Network Services
• Web servers, databases, proxies
• Cloud services and infrastructure
• Experience with Backups, Archiving and Disaster Recovery
•  Good network and diagnosis skills from an operating system perspective
• Solid security skills.
