Desired Skills and Experience
- OPS responsibility for some new and existing digital services
- Refreshing the AWS infrastructure on a regular basis
- Conducting regular reviews of relevant Cloudwatch and other performance metrics
- Setting up and responding to Cloudwatch alarms and other monitoring tools
- Responding to support tickets and issues
- Advising developers on proper and optimal use of AWS services
- Liaising with central AWS team for guidance on ABN AMRO AWS standards & guidelines
- Reviewing database performance measures and tuning where necessary
- Backup and recovery related activities
- Ensuring CICD pipelines are up and running
- Automating recurring tasks including application deployment
- Monitoring expiration and renewal of certificates
- Advising on use of new AWS services where relevant
- Identify problem causes/bottlenecks and provide an appropriate solution (RCA)
- Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting
- Ensure scalability, availability and performance of critical applications and systems
- Manage and monitor a multi-environment platform with an IaC methodology
- Intrinsic energy to share knowledge and teach / motivate others
- Teamplayer with open mindset and direct communication skills
- Good Linux and/or Windows Server skills
- Experience and understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, DNS, OSI model, load balancing, ..etc)
- Some experience with automation software (e.g. Ansible, Chef, AWS OpsWorks ,..etc)
- Sound understanding of RDS and NoSQL Databases
- Extensive experience with the following AWS Services: EC2, RDS, S3, EBS, ELB, Cloudwatch
- Some experience with AWS CloudFormation, ACM, KMS
- Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., Xen, Docker, Vagrant)
- Good experience with version control and CI/CD systems (e.g., Git, Jenkins, AWS Codepipeline, Codebuild, Codedeploy,..etc)
- Minimum of one Associate AWS certification: AWS Certified Sysops Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified Developer
