Desired Skills and Experience

  • Global Network Services is looking for a performance engineer to focus on resiliency analysis; disciplines will include baselining, application assessments, modeling/simulation, capacity planning, service level engineering/management, performance monitoring, reporting, and trending
  • Candidate will have depth of knowledge with core internetworking concepts and breadth of experience with practical internetworking skills
  • Must quantitatively forecast the impact of flow control, error recovery, latency, loss, and bandwidth dynamics on existing and proposed network services
  • Must possess a working knowledge of advanced mathematical concepts such as probabilities, deterministic and stochastic processes, statistics, queuing theory, and the ability to apply same to various network-application dilemmas
  • A thorough ability to decode and provide a thread-level interpretation of network traffic traces using Sniffer, OPNET/Riverbed ATX, or similar tool is required 
  • Candidate should also have experience with network modeling and simulation tools 
  • Must have demonstrated oral and written communication skills to effectively explain the business implications of technical dilemmas and solutions 
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent, plus related experience in large enterprise environments
