Desired Skills and Experience
- Global Network Services is looking for a performance engineer to focus on resiliency analysis; disciplines will include baselining, application assessments, modeling/simulation, capacity planning, service level engineering/management, performance monitoring, reporting, and trending
- Candidate will have depth of knowledge with core internetworking concepts and breadth of experience with practical internetworking skills
- Must quantitatively forecast the impact of flow control, error recovery, latency, loss, and bandwidth dynamics on existing and proposed network services
- Must possess a working knowledge of advanced mathematical concepts such as probabilities, deterministic and stochastic processes, statistics, queuing theory, and the ability to apply same to various network-application dilemmas
- A thorough ability to decode and provide a thread-level interpretation of network traffic traces using Sniffer, OPNET/Riverbed ATX, or similar tool is required
- Candidate should also have experience with network modeling and simulation tools
- Must have demonstrated oral and written communication skills to effectively explain the business implications of technical dilemmas and solutions
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent, plus related experience in large enterprise environments
