Desired Skills and Experience

  • Work Location: Phoenix, AZ
  • Alternate Designations: Senior Data Center Engineer
  • Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain information technology systems in both a stand-alone and client-server environment
  • Evaluate and resolve customer information system problems, and provide issue tracking
  • Provide system level support to application developers
  • Develop procedures and technical documentation

  • Perform off hours support as needed

  • Strong ability in remote and onsite troubleshooting of system issues
  • Strong ability replacing failed hardware components
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux OS
  • Strong understanding of information security best practices
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts and implementation (for VPNs, VLANS, firewalls, routers, switches, wireless devices)
  • Basic knowledge of configuration management and automation (Salt, Ansible, etc.)
  • Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.) 
  • Basic understanding of Mac OS
  • Ability to pass a background check, and obtain a security clearance
  • Ability to lift 30 (thirty) pounds, and physically rack and cable server and network hardware
  • Ability to perform after hours support as needed
  • Self-starter - minimal supervision required

  • US Citizenship or Legal Authorization to Work in the US

  • Strong understanding of Apache, Postfix, PHP, and MySQL
  • Forward thinking
  • High energy level with a pleasant and positive attitude
  • Evidence of working well within a diverse team
  • Previous Military Service a plus but not required
