Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in a Microsoft-centric (Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, IIS, VMWare), network, and production business environment as part of a wider IT team
  • Experience of installing, managing and troubleshooting Windows clients (XP/Vista/7) in an AD/GP domain environment (eg: Event Viewer, perfmon, msconfig, gpresult, etc…).
  • Some understanding of TCP/IP networks (eg: DHCP, DNS) and their troubleshooting on Windows clients (ipconfig, ping, route, etc.)
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Interest and willingness to develop and experience of many facets of network management and IT support
  • Willingness to undertake occasional overseas travel
  • Deliver a high-quality IT service, based on Certara standards for IT service delivery within SLAs and as dictated by business need accepting the nature of 24/7/365 IT systems
  • Day to day management of user queries, hardware, software and other technical issues as well as end user education/training.
  • Setup, tracking, assignment and preparation of computer devices for end-users and Simcyp Workshops including OS and application installation.
  • Accomplish daily tasks as directed through the helpdesk system.
  • Works under general supervision of one or more senior systems administrators
