Desired Skills and Experience
- Help install, maintain, diagnose and repair our systems and servers
- Monitor and maintain our global network
- Implement/maintain monitoring and recovery tools and procedures
- Install and configure infrastructure devices such as network switches and firewalls
- Assist tech support with complex server image conversions and other support issues
- Assist sales with complex customer requirements
- Manage and maintain company firewalls and other security tools
- Work with external suppliers, such as ISPs to resolve service issues
- Recommend and implement changes in procedures that improve security and reliability of our systems
- Develop and maintain documentation, including SOPs and diagrams
- Must work well in teams or alone and be proactive
- Some after hours or on-call occasionally required
- At least 7 years´ experience as a Systems Engineer
- Experience with multi-site environments
- Expert level Linux (Ubuntu) skills. This is a must
- Proficiency with networking and firewalls
- Ability to write scripts to automate tasks
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
- Experience with AWS
- Familiarity with security principles and tools such as Kali Linux
- Good working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SMTP, FTP, sFTP, TCP/IP, SSH, Samba, Apache
- Be familiar with KVM and how to build, configure, migrate, backup and clone VMs
- Experience with SuperMicro servers and HP 2920/2930/5500/5900/5940 switches a plus
- Experience with pfSense a big plus
