Desired Skills and Experience
- Work closely with other technology team members and vendors to design and recommend the technical architecture of application software packages and infrastructure
- Day to day system management of technical solutions and back end interfaces
- Ability to write, optimize and troubleshoot SQL queries and procedures
- Monitoring of servers, systems performance and capacity
- Work with security engineers to translate the required actions and tasks for operating system security and systems administration, and prepare required information for system audits
- Understand the automation of provisioning infrastructure in a cloud environment
- Full lifecycle release management, from test and staging environments into production
- University degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in a DevOps role
- Strong Linux/Unix knowledge base with a good understanding of Linux administration and troubleshooting (Networking, OS tools, File System, etc.)
- Experience with configuration management software like Chef or Puppet
- Experience with containerized development, deployment and management (docker, rancher, Mesos, etc.)
- Experience with Relational and non-relational databases, such as MySQL or Couchbase and Message Queues, such as ActiveMQ
- Proficient, hands-on experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting systems and applications, including performance management and capacity planning
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
- Fluency in English (verbal & written)
