Desired Skills and Experience

  • You support and maintain the operations of existing projects using a modern automation toolkit (Puppet, Ansible) and automate the setup of new projects 
  • You develop, deliver, and maintain tools used by the development team
  • You manage and administer clusters of servers used by applications providing services to millions of users worldwide
  • You manage and administer server clusters used by the development team
  • You ensure that any automated process is documented, scalable, and easy to understand
  • You keep detailed track of work completed, and report to a department manager
  • You have a keen eye in finding single-points-of-failure
  • You ensure the availability, security and performance of the platform, eliminating points of failure and bottlenecks
  • You take initiative to solve scalability problems before they cause outages
  • You have at least 4 years of relevant experience in Systems Administration
  • You have extensive experience with scripting languages, such as Ruby, Python, Bash, etc.
  • You have experience with automated testing and refactoring (get-it-done +then make it better)
  • You are experienced with version control software (Git)
  • You work with Linux (Redhat, CentOS)
  • You are familiar with continuous integration and delivery practices as well as publish/release software stacks (Gitlab / Jenkins)
  • You are comfortable working with exclusively remote hardware.
  • You are commited to high-quality, easy to manage automation
  • You are an innovator with good ideas, strong problem solving abilities, and a results-oriented attitude; you’re always open for improvement
  • You are a quick learner, and use past experience to improve future response handling
  • Very good English language skills mandatory, German is a plus
  • You’re thrilled by the idea of orchestrating and dealing with projects on massive scales.
  • You’re familiar with infrastructure testing: You’re able to quickly determine the cause of a problem and know how to resolve and improve the situation
  • You’re experienced with applicarion middleware
  • You have a deep understanding of Linux systems, you know how the kernel works and how to better optimize for targeted workloads
  • You’re experienced with databases like  Mysql / MongoDB  / InfluxDB / Elasticsearch
  • You’ve worked with various application monitoring and performance analysis tools 
  • You’re deeply familiar with TCP/IP Networking, DNS and routing
  • You have basic / advanced programming skills in PHP
  • You’re deeply familiar with MVC web application architecture
