- Evaluate end user needs before designing or selecting solutions to meet those needs which may involve conferring with users, studying systems flows, data usage, and business processes.
- Translate business strategy into technical vision and strategy through the use of prototypes, simulations, and other research.
- Drive or assist with partner/vendor selection for new endeavors.
- Ensure system is scalable by evaluating performance metrics and growth projections as well as maintaining an agile architecture to be able to respond to changes.
- Collaborate with other developers in technical solutions and implementation.
- Effectively identify and communicate issues to upper management in a clear, concise and timely manner while driving action based on urgency.
- Schedule, develop agendas for, facilitate, and document technical meetings and formal presentations.
- Quickly identify tradeoffs and solutions to problems in order to resolve in a high urgency environment.
- Work closely with leadership to assess the current technology portfolio and develop multi-year technology roadmaps based on capabilities required for the future. Identify gaps as well as opportunities for improvement.
- Update knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment.
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems (or related field), or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of general web development experience
- Primary experience in the .NET stack, but additional experience in Node.js, Scala, Java is beneficial
- Experience in AWS or other cloud platforms a plus
- Experience with Hadoop or other highly scalable data stores a plus
- Experience in system administration and networking a plus
- Requires strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
