Desired Skills and Experience
- Collaborate with PMs and internal IT to understand system needs for our cloud applications
- Work collaboratively with software engineers to deploy and operate our systems
- Help automate and streamline our software development operations and processes
- Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, staging, and production environments
- Fundamentals of system administration: Users, groups, policies, 2FA.
- Experience in IT support: Troubleshooting, contingency plans, incident management and report.
- Linux Sysadmin: Maintenance, provisioning, permissions in Unix systems.
- Basic networking (TCP/IP, OSI Model, Socket management and networking components, VLANs, IP filtering).
- Backups, infrastructure in failover distribution,
- Basic infrastructure knowledge: Distributed systems, storage systems (NAS), databases, security.
- Webservers: Apache 2.4, Ngnix.
- Knowledge of AWS, interest in other cloud providers.
- Experience working with Git and branches.
- Scripting languages (bash, python)
- Fundamentals of Software Engineering, fundamentals of Operations Systems Engineering.
- DevOps culture (knowledge or interest): Pipeline automation Gitlab, Jenkins, Nexus OSS, Terraform.
- IT and Software QA. System testing.
- Used to work in an Agile environment.
