Desired Skills and Experience

  • Manage the Systems group, including recruiting, training, mentoring, monitoring, and setting priorities of a global team of Systems Administrators of varying skills and experience
  • Balance priorities across daily helpdesk support for our internal user community and larger IT infrastructure efforts
  • Work with Operations and Executive Leadership to implement key security and technology-related initiatives, providing recommendations and industry best practices, and clearly communicating plans and deliverables
  • Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures, and information security and control structures
  • Drive and implement IT projects, providing oversight and sound decision-making on a diverse set of technologies and topics
  • Establish and enforce corporate IT policies and procedures
  • Regularly review Systems Administrators’ work to ensure quality and adherence to Company policies, IT standards, and industry best practices
  • Contribute to systems and infrastructure efforts
  • Forecast IT infrastructure needs and prepare annual budget
  • Evening and weekend work, as needed
  • Required to be available for 24x7 emergency IT support, as scheduled
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years management experience
  • Broad knowledge across hardware, operating system, software, and networking technologies, including physical, virtual, and cloud-based servers; Linux, Windows, and Macintosh; and routers, firewalls, VPN, TCP/IP, and switching
  • Well-developed diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong initiative and drive to see projects through to completion
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good documentation skills
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Good people skills
