Desired Skills and Experience

  • Performance – identify and analyse the issues that hamper the performance of the system, and work with Development to recommend solutions for the issues.
  • Support – work with the product team in code deployment, virtual servers, writing and modifying scripts for application deployments, system monitoring.
  • Resilience – implement, develop and oversee the backup, replication and fail over strategies.
  • Track Support – help to deliver F1, MotoGP and other events and supporting the Event Leader where necessary.
  • Reporting – gathering, analysing and interpreting external and internal data and preparing reports and recommendations
  • Everything else – performing other duties as maybe deemed suitable to the post, as agreed. Priorities are likely to vary from time to time
  • Experience of installing and supporting many Linux distributions, specifically Debian and Ubuntu.
  • Physical networking and network protocols, services and security including TCP-IP, DNS, DHCP and NFS.
  • Installing and supporting Windows distributions.
  • Firewall and VPN technologies.
  • Programming (Python, Bash) and writing in scripting languages.
  • Container based solutions.
  • Proactive monitoring solutions.
  • CI and continuous workflow solutions.
  • VMware/VSphere installations and support.
