- Participation across GRC IT Strategic programs - a multi-year effort to combine and/or migrate legacy business processes and applications into the new generation GRC Platform.
- Enabling of system to system integrations.
- Understanding of various technology rationalization, enhancement, and/or retirement initiatives.
- Reporting to the GRC Technical Lead, the STA is responsible for leveraging technology investments to realize business outcomes.
- Support the GRC Technical Lead in demand management of major projects and requested enhancements.
- Receive and appropriately respond to service requests, questions, etc. by system users.
- Maintain current and future state technical functions and process flow maps.
- Maintain subject matter expertise in GRC technology and processes.
- Have a technical background to understand and work with development resources to ensure that system changes are managed and developed efficiently in accordance with business needs and requirements.
- Initiate improvements from design and configuration to implementation.
- Have the ability to perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues or identify current state process inefficiencies.
- Lead or oversee the GxP mandated validation activities for solutions across all phases of the Merck SDLC.
- Understand and be able to navigate Merck’s IT functions, including engagement of solution delivery and other services.
- Ensure Disaster Recovery processes are managed and executed on an annual basis.
- Have the ability and experience to perform basic project management functions for local or small projects that do not require a full time Project Manager.
- Support inspections and system reviews for compliance.
- Bachelor’s Degree is required. Concentration in Engineering, Sciences, Information Systems or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years experience in the areas of technical analysis and system administration.
- Technical knowledge and experience in one or more of the following GRC technologies: RSA Archer, Hiperos, Metricstream, or Enablon. Other GRC technologies will also be considered.
- Knowledge and experience in technically supporting one or more of the following GRC business processes: Audit Management, Risk Management, Vendor Management, Compliance Management, Control Management, Policy Management, External Surveillance, Incident Management, Findings and Corrective/Preventative Actions.
- Significant experience in system enhancement, implementation and upgrades.
- Must be able to effectively participate in a cross-functional team in an international matrix organization.
- Support inspections and system reviews for compliance.
- Experience with Merck SDLC or equivalent system lifecycle approaches preferred
- Experience with regulated GxP Pharmaceutical IT Systems
- Proven leadership and people management skills, along with excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to understand and align IT architecture with business solutions.
- Must be able to develop and articulate a plan of action, whether in support of strategy development or planning a roadmap. This plan must be clear, compelling and understandable, and flow in a logical fashion with supporting rationale as appropriate.
- Experience managing contractors.
- Experience in authoring and/or review of SDLC documentation (i.e. Requirements, Design, Testing, etc.)
- Demonstrated skills in risk-based approaches, including ability to facilitate a robust risk analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex and dynamic work environment.
- Facilitation / workshop management skills.
- Change Management experience.
- Have experience with the IT financial processes as related to portfolio management to acquire resources and manage IT related purchases
