This position is a Pre-Sales role and will be responsible to engage with customers and technology vendors to define features and functionalities that solve key needs for our customers. This role will work closely with the Solution Sales team, Solution Architects and a team of engineers to define, design and implement working proofs of concepts, trials, and demos for customers. As part of the Field Sales Support organization you will team with the Sales organization to define a strategic account plan, understand short- and long-term customer business challenges, create a sales strategy and drive business along the sales process.
The ideal candidate would be located near :
Dallas/Ft Worth, TX, Frederick, MD, Atlanta, GA or Holmdel, NJ.
Travel will be approximately 30-50%.
degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or four plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. BSEE preferred.
5 years+ technical experience in Telecommunications / Data communications Industry.
Strong understanding of Telecommunications Service Providers transport network architecture, testing methodology and workflows
Self-motivated, working independently and willing to accept challenges.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Friendly, outgoing personality.
Strong technical skills in networking, security, applications and/or protocol design is desired.
Technology know-how: IP and Ethernet technologies, Data Center Ethernet, 100/40/10GigEth. Metro Ethernet
Application level protocol knowledge (HTTP(s), FTP, DNS, TELNET, TCP/IP)
Routing protocol knowledge, both IPv4 and IPv6 including RIP, BGP, OSPF, ISIS. MPLS Protocol knowledge: RSVP-TE, LDP.
Network virtualization, VMWare, Openstack, Dockers, Containers
Ability to travel within Region (50%).
Previous Technical Sales, Support, or Marketing experience preferred.
Programming Language experience in TCL/TK, C/C++, Java, Perl, Phython are a plus.
Network/Security certifications, including CCNA, CCIE, JNCIA and or CISSP are a plus.
Previous telecom/networking test equipment experience would be a plus
TestCenter Live/Lumos, Viavi/JDSU, Cenx, Exfo).
Responsibilitie** s include, but are not limited to:**
Engage with Solution Sales team to define strategy for winning business in assigned accounts.
Be the technical lead for the account, creating a vision of the solution and value it provides.
Work closely with customers developing insight into their business and technical challenges.
Collaborate with Spirent Business Units and Sales team to develop solutions helping to solve customer pain points.
Support the sales team with technical presentation at multiple levels within customer organization.
Be the technical lead for Proof of Concepts (PoC).
Engage with Sales team to drive opportunities through sales process.
Review competitive products and provide analysis for the sales team.
Work with customers to determine network deployment requirements.
Process and maintain pertinent information in Spirent SalesForce system.
