Are you a customer orientated IT Systems Engineer looking for a new challenge? As we continue to expand here at Safeguard Global there is a need to provide further support to the America’s region, supporting approximately 80 Guardians (employees).
There are two key elements to the role of an IT Systems Engineer;
The first; an experienced 1st line service desk technician. You will be responsible for providing desk side support both on site and remotely via email and telephone to all Safeguard Global staff both internally within the Austin office, Mexico office and US based remote workers in addition to other team members globally as required.
The second; a more advanced 2nd line engineer. you will have experience working on a team managing the servers, applications, networks and firewalls in an expanding corporate environment
Other responsibilities include;
Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot, Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016, printers and any other authorized desktop applications.
Perform general preventative maintenance on computers, laptops and printers along with repairs as required
Familiarize end users on basic software, hardware and peripheral device operation
Work with other IT team members regarding new builds and upgrades
Complete work of assigned tickets and ability to prioritize
Take ownership and responsibility of queries, issues and problems assigned
Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution
Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records
Skills and experience required
You will be a technical engineer with a minimum of four years of IT work experience with basic to intermediate knowledge and expertise in information technology systems with particular focus on; AWS, Microsoft, Vmware, Veeam, HP, and Cisco platforms.
Thorough understanding of the desktop build, imaging and deployment process
Thorough understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy management.
An understanding of the trends in IT and desire to start building relationships with customers and 3rd party suppliers where appropriate to work towards the successful implementation of IT initiatives.
Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate technical issues and solutions in a non-technical way to all levels of colleagues;
Conceptual knowledge of ITIL processes including but not limited to Change Management, Configuration Management, Availability Management and Capacity Management
The successful candidate must have a passport and be prepared to travel to Mexico City periodically. The position requires a high level of commitment and self-motivation.
Desirable skills and qualifications
Cisco CCNA or CCENT
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate or better a plus.
Fortigate Firewall experience
Microsoft MTA minimum. MCSA or MCSE preferred
Experience of linux systems administration (particularly RHEL)
Scripting skills an advantage
Experience with Zendesk
