Job description

Title: Sr. SQL Database Developer

The Senior Database Developer will be responsible for reporting, integrations, and general data management. We have four delivery methods of reporting; in application report builders, SSRS, Power BI, and Vena (Microsoft Excel connected with a data cube on the back end). This role would be responsible for identifying reporting needs and creating custom reports across the reporting suite based on user needs. (It is not required that you know each of the business applications when you start, what is more important is your ability to interpret and create complex SQL statements to power reports and integrations). Knowledge of data warehouses is strongly preferred, as is experience with data integrations.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a preferred field of study in Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred; equivalent experience is required otherwise
  • Strong understanding of SQL required with ability to write complex SQL code
  • Development experience using MS SQL and SSRS technologies
  • Experience with Excel is preferred
  • Experience interacting with different database management systems. We primarily use SQL Server; other database technologies will be a part of our environment as well in the future.
  • Postgresql experience is preferred as we have a project this year working with this technology
  • Experience in customizing and integrating applications, preferably Real Estate applications, but comparable experience will be considered
  • Preferred background in Construction, Single Family, Multi-Family, and/or Commercial Property Management
  • Preferred experience working with Finance and Accounting groups.
  • Experience with ETL strongly preferred


  • Problem solver who can add value even when working outside normal scope of duties
  • Knowledge of API’s, web services, SOAP, REST, XML, JSON is a plus
  • Ability to travel to other offices, properties, or conferences (10%)
  • Willingness and ability to learn and research independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, consistently sets goals and meets deadlines
