Job description

Optima is a fast growing I.T. software and services firm based in New Jersey which specializes in providing Digital Transformation and Business Process Automation IT Consulting Services to enterprise customers across North America. Currently, one of our premier client’s is seeking a Deskside Support Consultant. This opportunity is a 6 month contracting position; extension is very likely provided the consultant exceeds our client’s expectations.

NOTE: Personal vehicle will be required to deliver IT assets to various local destinations.



  • te IT Refresh activities, including but not limited to, reimaging with base image, installing all software required to utilize the computer, installing/troubleshooting driver issues, windows updates, delivering of the computer, setting up the computer, etc.

  • Rectify Incidents and complete assigned tasks in ServiceNow, including but not limited to, software installs, deliveries, reassignment of assets, refresh equipment past its lifecycle, and general troubleshooting of IT issues.

  • Assume ownership of problem calls from inception through resolution; acting as the focal point with the end user ensuring the problem is resolved.

  • Develop and maintain a customer-focused relationship with business stakeholders and other IT areas by exhibiting a high level of collaboration, timely communication and responsiveness.

Required Skills:


  • or more years of experience working in a desktop support capacity supporting desktop applications, hardware and peripherals.

  • Advanced experience in the latest versions Microsoft Windows and Office applications.

  • Experience with typical end-user hardware including common, name-brand peripherals.

  • Working familiarity with Microsoft Servers, Active Directory (usage and configuration) and Microsoft Exchange.

  • Solid analytical, technical and proven solving skills.

  • Must have superior customer service skills, along with excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to provide clear and simple explanations and work closely with users to identify and resolve (or escalate) computer related issues.

  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and work ethic.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Bachelors or Associate degree in computer science; or equivalent training and experience. Any technical certifications are a plus.
