Immediate need for a talented Infrastructure Analyst with experience in the Utility Industry. This is a  7+ Months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Charlotte, NC. Please review the job description below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for deployment, management, and process execution.
  • Work with architects and subject matter experts to understand technical, security, and business requirements
  • Help implement and maintain IT technologies that improve the security, scalability and reliability of our corporate infrastructure
  • Advance IT’s DevOps capabilities through intelligent design and delivery
  • Participate on project teams to deliver optimal solutions
  • Deliver functioning and properly tested code to meet customer needs
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Maintain documentation of Automation processes and toolsets
  • Ability to work independently on sprint user stories but also have a willingness to work collaboratively with the team to solve problems Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Strong scripting and automation capabilities
  • Experience with the process of provisioning servers, including but not limited to installation/configuration of the OS, middleware, and application components
  • Familiarity with Host Configuration Management tools like Puppet, Chef, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Solution Architects, Security Architects, and IT Operations resources on design or problem resolution
  • Ability to resolve complex issues that require significant freedom of action and sound judgment with general supervision
  • Ability to present information on technically complex subjects in an understandable manner in both oral and written form to business clients and senior management
  • Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
  • Proven ability to work in a complex fast-paced agile environment
  • Excellent Communication Skills and Leadership Competencies
  • Basic knowledge of modern software development practices
  • Experience in the follow areas:
  • o Interpreting requirements to design IT solutions
  • o Utilization of DevOps pipeline
  • o Host Configuration Management tools
  • o Working knowledge of scripting languages(powershell/python/bash)
  • Understanding of core infrastructure technologies: Active Directory, DNS, Network file sharing, server OS deployment, configuration management, automation, system hardening, and security patch management
  • Ability to coordinate and monitor to isolate and diagnose common system problems and document system events to ensure continuous functionality
  • Perform problem resolution and root cause analysis along with recommending and implementing preventive techniques.
  • Proven ability to be self-directing, requiring limited management oversight, to be proactive in developing and deploying services
  • Willingness to learn and expand knowledge
  • Thrives in an iterative environment where there are many moving parts
  • Experience Continuous integration/delivery tools such as git, Jenkins, Concourse, Nexus
  • Working knowledge of various environments included networking, SQL, Oracle, NoSQL DBs clustering, IIS, Websphere, and Weblogic
  • Experience in developing, securing, and integrating with REST-based Web services
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices
