Job description

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Technology Engineering, the Senior Manager of Infrastructure oversees multiple members of the Core Infrastructure team responsible for the design, implementation, support, and enhancements of the Elevate Infrastructure and its systems. The Senior Infrastructure Manager oversees the highly technical Infrastructure team that manages the Server, Storage, Operating System, all cloud infrastructure solutions, as well as the readiness of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery facilities for on prem and cloud-based solutions. The Infrastructure Manager is also responsible for working as part of an IT team with project managers, other infrastructure and application teams and leaders, and the business lines to implement effective and practical solutions.

Essential Functions:

Must be a high-energy manager able to delegate and mentor effectively yet roll up his or her sleeves when required to achieve results or demonstrate effective behavior.

Experienced people leader capable of managing a team of more than 10 people.

Contribute to and enforce the technology policies, organization, and processes that promote predictable, efficient development of world-class software.

Develop, foster, and enforce team accountability to meet commitments.

Track and effectively use performance measurements to quantify and benchmark project and deliverable velocity, as well as other key metrics.

Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performance Infrastructure team that acts as a business partner across departments.

Communicate clear performance expectations to the Infrastructure teams. Monitor and observe performance of teams and their members and provide clear and timely feedback. Reinforce through positive feedback.

Develop team members to increase the bench strength and flexibility of the Operational support function.

Identify appropriate training and other development resources for the Infrastructure teams enabling them to perform their jobs more effectively and efficiently.

Monitor efforts and facilitate activities to ensure successful, timely, and quality project deliverables.

Measure and continuously improve quality and velocity through the application of new tools, processes, and practices.

Review and analyze existing Infrastructure application effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging solutions.

Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of Infrastructure best practices.

Be a compelling leader who is comfortable with team dynamics who openly seeks and shares information across teams and departments, coordinating and combining competencies for the best overall results.

Collaborate with system owners for permanent solutions to production support issues.

Ensure enterprise infrastructure health through effective change management, documentation, communication, and leadership strategies.

Education and Experience:

10+ years of technical infrastructure leadership and proven success in directing and fostering highly technical teams.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience is preferred.

Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, working across multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong technical leadership experience, including the ability to effect change and motivate.

Demonstrates good judgment in proactively identifying issues and recommending solutions to others.

Applies a creative, entrepreneurial approach to technology possibilities.

Wide technical knowledge base across systems, storage, network, IT security etc.

Strong understanding of IaaS and PaaS cloud services, including Managed Services.

Experience supporting Distributed System technology components like Virtual servers, LDAP, Active Directory and SQL and open source tools.

In-depth knowledge and experiences of financial compliance/business domains: SOX, PCI, EI3PA, SOC-2, SDLC, Policy Administration, etc.

In-depth knowledge and experiences with Windows servers technologies including: ESXi, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, and Microsoft SQL.
