Job description

Direct-Hire position.** No sponsorship and unable to work Corp2Corp. **

DevOps Engineer - Austin, TX.

DevOps Engineer will be focused on; site reliability, deploying, maintaining, and scaling platform infrastructure . The engineer will work with a small, highly focused, and collaborative team to design tools and systems to enhance our applications performance & scaling needs. ** The individual will often have to learn independently and remain on the cusp of new technologies in the DevOps space.**

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

·         Lead CI/CD architecture decisions

·         Develop & Maintain our “infrastructure as code” repositories

·         Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architecture design

·         Maintain and Improve monitoring & alerting on all applications

·         Mentor Junior developers

·         Have ideas and opinions on how we can work better as a team

·         Be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal oversight while still delivering high quality code in a timely manner

·         Be extremely detail oriented

·         Be collaborative & supportive team player

Required Skills:

·         10+ years of enterprise software development experience

·         7+ years of deploying, maintaining, and monitoring cloud hosted applications, preferably in AWS

·         SaltStack or similar infrastructure as code platform (Chef, Puppet, etc.)

·         Docker

·         Container Management, Deployment, & Monitoring using AWS (ECS and Kubernetes)

·         DBA experience with SQL databases, Cassandra, & Elasticsearch

·         Distributed systems & Lambda architecture design

·         Designing, Deploying, & Managing Microservices

·         Been responsible for AWS spending, budgeting, and/or forecasting

·         AWS technologies (EC2, ECS, API Gateway, etc.)

·         Apache Kafka or similar PubSub style messaging systems

·         Experiencing with a stream-processing framework (Spark Streaming, Apache Flink, Apache Storm, etc.)

·         Python Web framework (Django, Flask, etc.)

·         Designing, Deploying, & Managing Microservices

·         CI/CD tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, Circle CI, etc.)

·         NodeJS & Express

·         AWS DevOps, Solution Architect, Security, or SysOps Certifications preferred
