Job DescriptionObjectRocket is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help build the next generation platform for Database-as-a-Service. Specifically focused on the CI/CD pipeline deploying software services to a globally distributed, multi-cloud kubernetes environment.Our mission is to disrupt the market with a completely new product class -- one where developers can finally forget about the back end data source and focus on building compelling products. By focusing on open source solutions, unparalleled specialist expertise, and the industry’s best cloud database platform we enable customers to experience levels of data management ease and understanding never before seen.Ultimately, we improve by an order of magnitude the way developers store, retrieve, and manage data.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, build and maintain CI/CD pipeline for APIs, UIs, and Kubernetes based operatorsCollaborate with other developers and engineers by participating in code reviews and pairing up when necessaryStay up-to-date with modern CI/CD technologiesConfigure/implement build and deployment status reports/displaysMaintain and manage Jenkins serversShared on-call responsibility QualificationsA strong sense of product ownership and thrives in a fast-paced, iterative environment.You understand the value of shipping quickly and of software craftsmanship, and have the judgment to know when to apply each.Experience deploying and managing solutions in AWS, GCE or AzureExperience working with containerized solutionsFamiliar with github, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/CircleCI)Understanding of platform level concerns, such as configuration management, network request routing, blue/green or canary deployments, etc.Strong background in Linux administrationAutomation/scripting experience using Bash, Python, etc.Strong problem solving, written and verbal communication skills and experience working effectively across multiple teamsNice to havesAn entrepreneurial spirit/business senseGo scripting experienceExperience working with KubernetesExperience in microservice application fabric, knowledge of single-page applicationsWorking knowledge of monitoring and alerting production deploymentsExperience / EducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technology related field required, plus 3 years of experience in software development, engineering, testing, or a related field. Understanding of software engineering fundamentals gained through training, course work, or relevant experience.
