Job description

Under the direction of the Director of Cloud Operations, the Senior Cloud Engineer designs, develops, implements, secures and maintains infrastructure and resources in support of workloads that are hosted in private, public or hybrid cloud environments for HealthStream.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, plan, automate, deploy, monitor and support cloud (private, public or hybrid) infrastructure and resources using an infrastructure as code model that supports client and organizational goals, objectives and requirements

  • Transform and migrate complex/multi-tier infrastructure and resources from a traditional infrastructure deployment model to an infrastructure as code model ensuring that on premise and cloud workloads work well together and can be supported by the organization

  • Develop and maintain written policies, procedures, standards and best practices using vendor or industry standard sources to build and support cloud (private, public or hybrid) environments.

  • Lead problem and incident resolution, including facilitating calls with vendors, troubleshooting, providing documentation, filing bug reports and resolving technical issues to ensure timely resolution

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Science, related field or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in an Information Technology infrastructure role building applications, infrastructure and/or resources supporting IaaS, PaaS or FaaS based solutions

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience writing effective scripts/code in one or more high level programming or scripting languages such as bash, PowerShell, C#, Java or Python

  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience with building infrastructure and resources into large scale connected systems in public, private and hybrid cloud enterprise environments, Amazon Web Services preferred

  • Experience with hardware virtualization, VMWare preferred

  • Experience creating, deploying and supporting Docker containers

  • Experience administering Windows based systems, Windows 2016 or Windows 2019 preferred

  • Experience administering Linux based systems, CentOS or Ubuntu preferred
