Job description

Position Summary

The Data Manager evaluates, tests, monitors, and supports databases and the integration of data between systems. As a custodian of the organization’s data, the Data Manager defines and maintains the data structures in multiple systems. This role verifies that current database and technology solutions are able to meet business needs and that implementations or integrations of new bases operate without error. The Data Manager will work collaboratively across all departments of the organization to help maintain and improve current databases and assess and maintain segregation of duties within databases by reviewing and approving user access.


The Data Manager will be based in headquarters in Dallas, Texas.

Essential Skills and Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper database interface and flow of data between systems

  • Control data access and establish segregation of duties for user roles

  • Integrate outside databases with current ones

  • Initiate and monitor job scheduling between databases

  • Maintain and evaluate current databases and test them to identify issues

  • Test modifications to database structure and ensure database security

  • Optimize process for user access additions, changes, and disablement

  • Improve database definition controls, access controls, and update controls

  • Oversee the development of new databases or addition of outside databases

  • Initiate and report results of periodic user access reviews

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Database Management, or related studies
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in development or integration of new databases
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience collaborating with management and leadership of business and technology functions
  • Ability to understand database needs from a strategic and tactical perspective
  • Business acumen with strong analytical and organizational skills
