nanocosmos enables users to go live around the world in one second with its nanoStream Cloud and H5Live Player. Founded 1998 and with many years of experience in the video industry, nanocosmos has created the unique H5Live technology for plug-in-free delivery and playback on any device and HTML5 browsers, including Safari on iOS. H5Live is part of nanoStream Cloud, a scalable live streaming solution and ultra-low-latency (ULL) CDN with a global footprint. nanoStream Cloud Analytics and H5Live Metrics for better insights and QoS are now also available. We are looking for a devops engineer / cloud services admin to help us further improve our services.
You will setup and maintain servers and cloud services in our worldwide network, help creating and developing failover and load-balanced services based on a scalable micro architecture in the cloud, and help with internal and external support.
You know what a linux shell is, how to setup servers in any infrastructure like AWS, and would like to design and implement a worldwide autoscaling server infrastructure?
Our nanoStream Cloud features live streaming, sharing, collaboration, chat, geolocation, tagging, social media integration with Facebook Live/Youtube Live, etc.

About the job
- You will be joining the devops team at nanocosmos in Berlin, work on our nanoStream Cloud which is a stable cloud service with a global scale.
- You will be managing and working on our cloud architecture and design, deployment and operation concepts, with a flexibility to discover and implement new features and functions in a dynamic, agile environment, and keep a stable system up and running 24/7/365 with ongoing maintenance and product updates.
- Collaborate with management, sales, customer support and engineers to ensure stability and performance requirements and user experience
- Understand customer use cases to translate to technical requirements.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of key system features
Will work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.
Will work in an Agile environment to deliver high quality software with short iterations.
Work closely with development & management teams and customers
You should feel comfortable with some of these skills:
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
3+ years of experience.
Linux Server setup and maintenance
Networking (TCP/IP, Routing)
Scripting: bash, nodejs, (python)
Deployment processes: ansible, jenkins, …
Monitoring tools (icinga, ELK-Stack, Graylog, …)
Project based work flow based on small iterations in agile teams
Agile Development with git
Database management (SQL, Redis, …)
VMs and Containers
AWS or other cloud hosting providers
Excellence in technical communication
Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
Experience building scalable infrastructure software or distributed systems for commercial online services.
Availability for out-of-office hours for emergency support and failover
One or more of these non-technical skills:
– English language mandatory (German optional)
