Department Overview

The Enterprise Technology Infrastructure (ETI) team within the Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) is responsible for enterprise-wide infrastructure services across the global footprint, including networking, production services, storage, data centers, mainframe, midrange and Cloud-based systems, distributed systems, and international infrastructure.

About the Role

Provides technical support for operating systems. Analyzes and uses vendor specifications and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex systems software and/or hardware problems, resolves issues or escalates as needed to meet established service level agreements. Leads efforts to maintain, restore or improve service and determines when vendor maintenance support is needed. Participates in projects and/or coordinates small projects associated with implementation of upgrades, installations, modifications, customizations and/or testing, completes moderately complex programming and testing tasks. Updates and completes documentation, procedures and user guides. Understands BCP, quality, security and compliance requirements for supported area and analyzes additions and changes for risk to the environment. Participates in testing and updating the business continuation plan. Provides assistance and guidance to less experienced staff


Handle 24*7 Production Support , Maintenance and Remediation for Unix Systems including patching , change management and EACOs.
Partner with Global team in handling day to day work.
Provide effective incident & change management to end user and ensure high availability of environment.
Identify process improvement initiatives within the team.
Support routine operational activities with automation.
Must be able to provide good coverage for all high impact & visible production issues.
Participate in RCA & PA calls and work with SME on resolution.
Understand end to end delivery in terms of patching, production support and work order handling.
Maintain incident management SLA.
Understanding of Multi-geo support environment.
Good knowledge of Operating Systems and Hardware Architecture (Build , performance testing, monitoring & operations).
Good understanding of when to escalate issues to Shift Lead.

Essential Qualifications

University degree in technical or related discipline.

Experience of more than 4-5 years in OS Administration.

4-5 years of experience in Building , Managing & Supporting - Red Hat Enterprise 5.x 6.x,7.x & Oracle Solaris 10,11 Operating Systems.

Desired Qualifications

Self-motivated team player, with strong organizational, time management skills and both verbal and written communication skill.

Intermediate level of experience in Building , Managing & Supporting high availability solutions like - Veritas Clusters , Redhat Cluster and Oracle RAC clustering.

Familiar with programming knowledge such as Perl, Python, Shell scripting.

Good Understanding of DevOps tools like Puppet , Ansible , Docker ,Github & Jenkins.

Good Understanding of Cloud technologies like OpenStack , Azure , AWS and Cloud Foundry.

Experience with network topology TCP/IP Network issues ,internet routing issues and troubleshooting.

Good Understanding of Automation Tools like HPSA,HPOO and ability to develop scripts to accomplish mass deployments.

Intermediate level of experience with Linux Kernel troubleshooting.
