About the
Role

Senior Confluent Kafka Engineer with good technical, communication and inter personal skills.
As a Lead Engineer with Middleware Engineering team you will be instrumental in providing subject matter expertise in the deployment of Confluent Enterprise Kafka within organization for enterprise consumption. Leads, conducts, and coordinates the analysis, planning, and implementation of Confluent Platform . Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, debugs, maintains, modifies, and documents the Confluent Platform. Plans and defines systems software and/or hardware requirements and determines system specifications and/or customizations. Directs the design of subsystems and integration of total systems. Identifies and resolves the most complex problems. Provides leadership, direction and/or guidance to less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the physical deployment of infrastructure across multiple environments
  • Supervise and guide optimization and tuning
  • Standards and patterns development
  • User guide development and training overviews for supporting teams
  • Provide troubleshooting and best practices methodology for development teams
  • Process automation and new application on-boarding
  • Design monitoring solutions and baseline statistics reporting to support the implementation
  • Level 3 support for development teams that are utilizing the platform
  • Planning and execution of infrastructure projects as well as on-boarding of new application development Essential
    Qualifications

4 year Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree plus 10 years’ experience or equivalent

  • 4+ year’s experience with Kafka Development and Confluent Enterprise Kafka

  • Expertize in Cluster, Capacity Planning, Cluster configuration, Security, SSL in Confluent Enterprise Platform

  • 10 years of overall experience with Linux environments.

  • Good to have experience on other messaging products like IBM MQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ etc.

  • SSL certificate management and troubleshooting

  • Expertise in ticket tracking tools (JIRA)

  • Expertise in scripting/utilities development with Python

  • Expertise in DevOps and good understanding of Agile

  • Expertise in Java/J2EE architecture, Microservices development, frameworks and libraries such as Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, JMS, JMX

  • Experience designing and implementing APIs, including deep understanding of REST, SOAP, HTTP etc. Desired
    Qualifications

  • Able to conduct performance tuning, review log files, and troubleshoot web application issues

  • Demonstrated ability to document technical systems with Microsoft Visio, Excel, and/or Word
