Department Overview

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) group is responsible for Agile, Architecture, Services, Product Development and Cloud, Engineering, and Tools, Site Reliability, as well as training and processes to enable the Wells Fargo Technology organization and the company to achieve this transformation.

About the Role

This opportunity is available for a motivated and experienced DevOps engineer who can work closely with application development teams to assist them with onboarding to Enterprise Pipeline. Additionally, this individual will be expected to provide guidance for junior DevOps engineers and function as an escalation point for challenges that are unable to be resolved quickly by those same junior engineers.

Key responsibilities:
Acts as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation, for Jenkins and UrbanCode Deploy (UCD/uDeploy) installations, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs.
Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.
Provides coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly robust original code.
Acts as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts.
Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs.
Oversees overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production.
Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides.
Leads projects, allocates work and provides guidance for less experienced staff.
Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan.
Provide guidance to, and train the development teams on the CI/CD toolchain
Submit possible bug or enhance request for the CI/CD solution
Analyze currently used CI/CD solution and provide guidance to the app team on possible migration path(s) to the new solution

Essential Qualifications:
Overall 13-16 years of software experience
6-8 years of working experience in Java
3-4 years of working experience with REST APIs
5-8 years of DevOps experience with automated build and deploy tools
5+ year experience in a DevOps engineer capacity working with Jenkins, uDeploy, GitHub, and Artifactory
Strong understanding of CI/CD principles
Able to effectively communicate with our Development team clients and Business partners
Able to manage competing priorities

Desired Qualifications

Well rounded knowledge in OS (Ex: Windows and/or Linux), Web Server (ex: Tomcat), database (Oracle/SQL Server)
8+ years of source code experience (GitHub, SVN, TFVC, TFSGit)
5-7 years of experience working with DevOps tools APIs (GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, Artifactory, SonarQube, Fortify, CheckMarx and BlackDuck)
7-10 years of development experience

Other Desired Qualifications:
Experience with code scanning tools - Sonar, Fortify, CheckMarx, BlackDuck
Experience with Build scripting tools – Gradle, Maven, MSBuild, NodeJS, Fastlane
Experience with Unit Test tools - NUnit, Junit
Experience with Shell Scripting – Bash, Batch
Good SQL knowledge
Good communication skills
High focus on client service

Market Skills and Certifications

Experience with code scanning tools - Sonar, Fortify, CheckMarx, BlackDuck
Experience with Build scripting tools – Gradle, Maven, MSBuild, NodeJS, Fastlane
