Job description

Involve in full software development lifecycle
* Understand / Collect business requirements and functional specifications
* Analyze and understand existing program logic
* Creation / update of detailed design specifications, program specifications, and program version control documentation
* Develop of new programs and changes to components of new or existing applications
* Creation of unit test plans and execution of unit tests
* Preparation and execution of systems test plans and scripts
* Providing technical support for quality assurance (QA) testing
* Providing technical support for user acceptance testing (UAT)
* Creation of implementation / back-out plans and support handover documents
* Providing technical support for production implementations and post-implementation support during implementation warranty period
* Candidates should note that this list is not exhaustive and duties are liable to change from time to time in line with the needs of the department

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent discipline
* Over 12 years' experience in software/application development with Java/J2EE developing large, mission-critical applications
* Strong knowledge of Agile methodology (Scrum, Continuous Integration, and etc). Hands-on Agile development is preferred
* Strong experience of working in a software development and/or support capacity in time critical financial applications, including financial transaction processing, settlement, and accounting
* Good understanding of full software life cycle development process
* Strong hands-on core Java 8+, Spring Boot, JMS, Maven, JUnit skills - all essential
* knowledge on Cloud platform like AWS, Cloud Foundry is good to have
* In-depth knowledge of messaging technologies, like MQ, JMS and etc
* Good knowledge of Oracle, SQL queries
* Familiar with object oriented design
* Experience on source code version control systems GIT/Stash
* Experience on build and integration tools including Jenkins, auto deployment tool and etc
* Preferable to have exposure to Apache Storm, Apache Cassandra, Apache Kafka, Groovy and Spring Boot

Additional Skills
* Must have experience with development, deployment, and support of large-scale distributed applications in a mission-critical production environment
* People management skill, mentoring & coaching experience is an addon
* Must have experience with development, deployment, and support of large-scale distributed applications in a mission-critical production environment
* Must possess strong design skills and ability to use various design patterns to develop solutions rapidly
* Should quickly acquire broad knowledge of applications in Finance space and system inter-dependencies
* Be a self-starter with confidence to drive issues through to completion in highly pressured situations
* Should have strong problem management and problem investigation skills with ability to learn new skills quickly to add value in problem-focus areas
* Must have excellent communication skills with ability to deliver timely and responsive service to internal clients
